Description: Words by Isaac Watts, 1719, paraphrase of Psalm 146, Part 1. West has rearranged the lines and expanded his stanza from 88.88. to 88.88.88. West's lines 1-2 are Watts' stanza 6, lines 1-2; then West takes line 3 of Watts' stanza 5, line 4 of stanza 6, and line 4 of stanza 5.

English text Isaac Watts, 1719, Ps. 146 Pt. 1, Sts. 5-6 His truth for ever stands secure; He saves the oppressed, he feeds the poor; He sends the laboring conscience peace, And grants the prisoner sweet release. The Lord hath eyes to give the blind; The Lord supports the sinking mind; He helps the stranger in distress, The widow and the fatherless.
