Italian text Gelo ha madonna il seno e fiamma il volto, io son ghiaccio di fore e’l foco hò dentro accolto. Questo avien perche amore ne la sua fronte alberga e nel mio petto, ne mai cangia ricetto, sì ch’io l’abbia negl’occhi, ella nel core.

German translation Kälte hat die Herrin im Busen und Feuer im Antlitz. Ich aber bin Eis nach außen und im Innern berge ich Feuer; das geschieht, weil Amor im Antlitz ihr wohnt und mir in der Brust, und nie wechselt die Wohnung, so dass ich in den Augen ihn hätte und sie im Herzen.
