1. Herbst ist es geworden, Nebel ziehen auf;
   Stürme weh’n von Norden, nehmen ihren Lauf;
   Schwere dunkle Wolken ziehen über Stadt und Land,
   bringen Schnee und Regen, den wir gern verbannt!

2. Tief in uns’ren Herzen sind wir traurig sehr;
   Sonne wir verschmerzen, denn sie scheint nicht mehr;
   Blätter von den Bäumen werden all’ hinweggefegt,
   bis sich wieder Stille auf die Seele legt.
