Life

Born: 1485 ca., Châtellerault, Vienne

Died: 1558 (?)

Biography The earliest record of Janequin is as a clerc in Bordeaux in 1505. He moved to Angers in the 1530s and later to Paris, being settled permanently there in 1549. He made his will in January 1558 and had died when Octante deux pseaumes de David traduits en rithme françoise par Cl. Marot et autres avec plusieurs cantiques appeared in 1559.
