French text Je ne fus jamais si aise que j’ai été depuis trois jours, j’ai dansé tout à mon aise, au son des fifres et tambours. Ah! Mon ami, et la la la, que j’étais aise, que j’étais aise, et la la la, et la la, que j’étais aise, de danser ainsi tous ces jours, au son des fifres et tambours!

English translation I never have enjoyed myself so much before as in these past three days: I have danced the time away to the sound of fifes and drums. Ah my friend, la la la, what a time I have had, la la la, and la la, what a time I have had, dancing, dancing all these days to the sound of fifes and drums. Translation by Mick Swithinbank
