Italian text Nella dolce stagion di primavera senza foglie vedrò mirti ed allori, di verno al ghiaccio i fiori sorger lieti, e fiorir rose e viole, pria che da voi mio sole scioglia quest’alma o che per l’altro oggetto, nuovo foco d’amor mi scaldi il petto.

English translation In the sweet season of spring I will see myrtles and laurels stand without leaves, and in the frost of winter, flowers bloom forth happily, and roses and violets blossom, before from you, my Sun, this soul would be unbound, or for another would a new flame of love burn in my breast.
