Description: This work is attributed to Manchicourt in the earliest known source (RISM 1546/8) and in RISM 1556/9, but to Clemens in the other three printed sources listed above. The numerous hand-copied manuscript sources are similarly divided. The American Institute of Musicology published it in both the Clemens and Manchicourt volumes of Corpus Mensurabilis Musicae. Further adding to the confusion, Manchicourt also wrote a five-part setting of the same text, also first published in 1546.
