For America fires a million forges,
She is fashioning defenses for the earth.

Deep, deep, deep drive the plough-share,
That deliv'rance take root in the loam.
America sows in gladness
In the faith of a harvest that shall come.

'Mid the perils of the foe swept sea.
America is sending armies
As a pledge to the world that is to be!
