1. Over the plains of Bethlehem shone,
In the days of long ago,
A radiant star that brightened the world
With its never fading glow.
Wise men who saw the light of the star
Came to the manger's side,
Seeking the King while the Angels sang,
'Peace on earth, blessed Christmas tide!'

Refrain:
Fair Star of Bethlehem,
Shining throughout all ages,
Telling your message of love and peace
to peasants and Kings and sages,
Speeding the tiding o'er all the earth:
"Peace on earth, good will to men."
Telling the world of the great King's birth,
Fair Star of Bethlehem.

2. Centuries since that night long ago
But the Star shines as of old,
And all the world is brightened with love,
Where-e'er the story is told
The story sweet of Bethlehem Star,
The story of the King,
Of peace on earth, good will to men,
Hear the earth and heaven ring!
Refrain.
