Talk:Cantate Domino a 5 (Hans Leo Hassler)

The setting that the link took me to was the Cantate Domino a 4 of the Sacri Concentus 1601 available here: http://www.cpdl.org/wiki/index.php/Cantate_Domino_a_4_%28Hans_Leo_Hassler%29

As I have a PDF copy of the 1591 Cantiones Sacrae, I'll prepare an edition and upload it.

Perhaps there is a Helmut Kickton version of the Cantate a 5, and this is merely an incorrect link. I'll check at IMSLP.

Update: I checked the Helmut Kickton collection and I don't see a version of the Cantate a 5 there. The link that says 'a 5' goes to this score.

I see that my monkeying with edition numbers has created a new category: CPDL 3995xy. Perhaps a helpful administrator can sort this out. It just seemed to me that it wasn't necessary to give a new number to each version the same edition. Perhaps there is another way of indicating this without inventing a-b suffixes.

Hi, David. Thank you for your contributions. The usage here is to create each new edition with a different edition number, without subdivisions. So you should click on the 'Add new edition' tab, upper right of the work page, then just replace the 'a' and 'b' numbers with the brand new ones. Claude (talk) 07:27, 7 June 2016 (UTC)
OK, I'll take care of that when I have time, unless someone beats me to it. I'll leave the issue of the status of Kickton's version for the administrators. D-fished (talk)
Well done, David, thanks. Claude (talk) 20:53, 8 June 2016 (UTC)
