Why is this scored as SSTB? Wouldn't SATB be more appropriate? Seth Engel (talk) 19:45, 29 January 2022 (UTC)

It's scored like that since that's how it's scored in the source. I doubt if many altos would have difficulty singing the 2nd soprano line. However, if you wish to upload an edited version, feel free. All my editions are copyright CPDL, so can be freely adapted. If you don't use Capella, the mxl file is uploadable into most other music software.Jamesgibb (talk) 13:15, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
It is of course a nonsense to describe a Novello edition as an authoratative source. This is a transcription off IMSLP ( a site not known for its scholarship) of an edition concocted 70 years after the composer's death. Storace wrote this glee for performance in "The Iron Chest" and the original performers were "Signora Storace, Miss Grainger, Master Welsh and Mr Suett" i.e. S.S.S/A.T. This is the scoring that virtually all aboriginal editions employ.Cjshawcj (talk) 15:37, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
I bow to your superior knowledge! If only I were as learned. Why don't you provide a corrected edition?Jamesgibb (talk) 18:29, 30 January 2022 (UTC)
