Kludge?

This template was a really good idea! Is there a way to hide individual items? I tried commenting out a redundant link to Nunc dimittis from the "Larger Work" page The Short Service (Orlando Gibbons), but this trick doesn't seem to work… Richard Mix (talk) 07:47, 18 February 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, Richard. This Short Service looks like a hybrid between a works page and a "larger work" page with a simple list of entries. I could think of two ways to avoid it from being listed: 1. Remove the {{LinkText}} line; 2. Change {{TextAutoList}} so that it leaves out all "larger works" pages (and simultaneously add [[Category:Larger works]] to the Short Service. Which do you prefer? —Carlos Email.gif 17:47, 18 February 2015 (UTC)
2, don't you think? I haven't noticed if tables of contents from Music publications are excluded too...
I was more inclined to no. 1, but then I thought of something even simpler: {{LinkText|...|list=no}} avoids the inclusion of the page on listings. :) —Carlos Email.gif 05:30, 19 February 2015 (UTC)
Bravo! I'm wondering why it hadn't occurred to me that LinkText isn't the only way to link to text pages :-P

Redirect pages

I noticed Ave verum (Mel Bonis) with a LinkText to the redirect page Ave verum is missing from the target Ave verum corpus. Can the template somehow be tweaked to catch these? If it's not easy, would a template to be placed on redirect pages be simpler? (Rorate caeli (Introit) has TextAutoList.) Richard Mix (talk) 21:07, 4 July 2015 (UTC)

Hi Richard. That can't be done, unfortunately. I just checked the DPL documentation and this option is not available. {{LinkText}} needs to link to the exact title of the text page, otherwise the works page will be ignored. A template on a redirect page also doesn't behave as expected; that's why your test at Rorate caeli (Introit) was not working. —Carlos Email.gif 04:13, 5 July 2015 (UTC)

What's wrong with Beati mundo corde (Anonymous)

I don't see Beati mundo corde (Anonymous) on The Beatitudes, but must be overlooking something. Richard Mix (talk) 00:38, 21 February 2021 (UTC)

It's there now. — Barry Johnston (talk) 02:52, 21 February 2021 (UTC)
