Biography
William Mather was the compiler of Sacred Music, a collection including 26 psalm and hymn tunes and 6 anthems, which was published by subscription in 1807 (entered at Stationers' Hall on 25 March 1807). The title page of the work describes him as the organist of St Paul's and St James' churches in Sheffield, and the imprint lists the author at No. 11. Norfolk Row, Sheffield as a seller.
