English text
With happiness and jollity
The time shall run apace;
Whilst choosing not frivolity
Joy’s smiles shall gleam our face.
With pleasure we beguile the hours,
We laugh in gladsome mirth;
In merry song our chorus sing,
Forget the toils of earth.
La tra la,
Sing we with joy!
What matters though the wind blows cold,
Rain falls in heavy showers;
With hearts attuned to peaceful ways
Content shall e’er be ours.
We strive not for mere worldly gain,
With all its glittering show;
We seek to do some kindly things
That lives may happier brow.
Come join the “Cause of Happiness”
With all its wealth of power
To make hearts glad, uplift the sad,
And brighten every hour.
We’ll trust in Him who gave us life,
Who bids us to rejoice;
For blessings He has given us,
We’ll sing with thankful voice.
