E scort‘alma del sol di rose adorna,
Torn‘ Himeneo, deh torna
Con tutta tua lietissima famiglia;
Già l‘alba è giunta,
Hor piglia l‘amata fac‘, il velo,
Che non vid‘anch‘il cielo,
Né vedrà forse mai, più Bianca e bella
Alba, che vince il sol, vince ogni stella.

Beim Erscheinen der hübschen Tochter
und erhabenen rosengeschmückten Begleiterin der Sonne
kehrt zurück Hymen, ach, kehrt zurück
mit all seiner fröhlichen Familie;
schon ist die Morgenröte erschienen,
nun ergreift er die geliebte Fackel, den Schleier,
da noch nie der Himmel sah,
und vielleicht auch nie sehen wird, weißer und schöner
eine Morgenröte, die die Sonne besiegt, und jeden Stern.

At the appearance of the pretty daughter
and illustrious escort of the sun, adorned with roses
Hymen returns, oh, he returns,
with all his merry family;
already Aurora has appeared,
now he seizes the beloved torch, the veil,
as never before heaven did see,
and perhaps never will, a more white and beautiful
dawn, that conquers the sun, conquers every star.
