Biography Amzi Chapin was a cabinet maker, music teacher, and composer; teaching music in Virginia, North Carolina, and Kentucky from 1791. He settled in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania, in 1800, and remained there until 1831. He was the younger brother of Lucius Chapin.
