Biography
Pianist and composer, Bruno Vlahek, was born in 1986 in Zagreb (Croatia). He graduated from the Zagreb Academy of Music as one of the youngest piano students ever, and subsequently studied at Haute Ecole de Musique in Lausanne, Hochschule fur Musik in Cologne and Reina Sofia College of Music in Madrid.
He has performed as a soloist throughout Europe, in Israel and Siberia, at leading international music festivals and venues, and won the first prizes at A.Scriabin Piano Competition (Paris, 2010) and R.Vines Piano Competition (Lleida, 2008).
Bruno Vlahek has composed in many genres (orchestral, chamber, solo, choral, pop music) and his works have been performed to great acclaim in European musical centres (Berlin, Munich, Prague, Vienna, Riga, Dubrovnik, Salzburg, Lausanne, Lisbon, Vilnius, Belgrade), in the USA, Canada, Venezuela and at the ISCM's World New Music Days 2010 in Sydney, Australia.
For many years (1996-2008) he has also been active as a church organist and collaborated with various vocal soloists and choral ensembles.
