Biography

Chrsitian Finck was born in Dettingen/Würtemberg. He was a pupil of the Esslingen Seminary and the Leipzig Conservatory (1853-1855), and of Johann Schneider in Dresden. He lived as an organist and teacher at Leipzig till 1860, since then at Esslingen as first teacher of music in the Seminary, and organist and music director at the principal church. He recieved the title of "Professor" in 1862. Fink published sonatas, fugues, trios, preludes, exercises, ect. for the organ; also psalms, motets, songs, etc. (A Biographical Dictionary of Musicians (Baker, Theodore)[1]
