D'un sì bel foco, et d'un sì nobil laccio
Beltà m'incende, ed honestà m'annoda,
Ch'in fiamma e 'n servitú convien ch'io goda,
Fugga la libertade, e tema il ghiaccio.
Il foco è tal, ch'io m'ardo, e non mi sfaccio,
E l' nodo è tal, che'l mondo meco il loda,
Né mi gela timor, né duol mi snoda,
Ma tranquillo è l'ardor, dolce l'impaccio.
Scorgo tant‘ alt‘ il lume, che m'infiamma,
E'l laccio ordito di sì ricco stame,
Che nascend‘ il pensier, more'l desio.
Poi che mi splend‘ il cor sì bella fiamma,
E mi stringe il voler sì bel legame,
Sia serva l'ombra, ed ard’ il cener mio.
