Latin.png Latin text

Dum complerentur dies Pentecostes,
erant omnes in eodem loco,
et factus est repente de caelo sonus
tanquam spiritus vehementis,
et replevit totam domum,
ubi erant sedentes et apparuerunt illis
dispertitae linguae ignis
seditque super singulos eorum
et repleti sunt omnes Spiritu Sancto
et caeperunt loqui variis linguis magnalia Dei.
Alleluia

English.png English translation

When the days of Pentecost came,
they were all together in one place.
Suddenly a sound like the blowing
of a violent wind came from heaven
and filled the whole house
where they were sitting.
They saw what seemed to be tongues of fire
that separated and came to rest on each of them.
All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit
and began to speak in other tongues about the great works of God.
Alleluia.

(Acts of the Apostles 2:1-4, NIV translation, except for the last six words and ‘alleluia’; 'day' pluralised)
