Description: A folk hymn (Lowens 1964). First published as Happiness in Wyeth's Repository, Part Second (1813) for two parts, Tenor-Bass. As Exultation, a Treble part was added in Joseph Funk's A Compilation of Genuine Church Music (1835) (which later was retitled Harmonia Sacra); in its thirteenth edition (1869) an Alto part was added. See Exultation (Anonymous) for a four-part version. Words by Charles Wesley, 1749, Hymns and Sacred Poems No. 65, with ten stanzas.
