High on a mountain's lofty brow,
'Mid the clouds is glory's seat;
Rock'd by roaring winds that blow,
Light'nings blast and tempests beat.

Within the sun-gilt vale beneath,
Hope with sweet contentment dwells,
While gentler breezes round them breathe,
And softer showers refresh their peaceful cells.
