General Information

Title: Hosianna dem Sohne Davids
Composer: Anonymous

Number of voices: 4vv   Voicing: SATB

Genre: SacredMotet

Language: German
Instruments: A cappella

First published: ?
Description: Also part of the Ash Wednesday to Easter for Choirs Collection.
This work for four voices was attributed here to the collection Geistliche Deutsche Lieder (Bartholomeus Gesius), but the composition there is for five voices. The connection to the publication was removed.

Although often ascribed to Gesius, this work is obviously not by him, as he states in his publication Geistliche Deutsche Lieder. D. Mart. Lutheri…, Franckfurt an der Oder 1601 that it is by an unknown author (incerti autoris).
see Hosianna dem Sohne Davids (Anonymous) for other editions of this work.
