- Al voer myns liefkens duere die ick ghesloten vant.
- Ick clopte so lyselyc aen den rinck:
- Stant op myn alder liefste, stant op en laet my in.
English translation
- Last night I stole along to my love's door
- But found it closed.
- Softly then I knocked:
- Arise my love, arise and let me in.
Translator's note: 'Rinck' (literally 'ring') probably refers to a door-knocker, but is mainly there for the rhyme in my opinion.
