1  Is it to odours sweet that I sing?
Thou that art calling me, art thou the Spring?
Yes, 'tis the blossoms that gladden my heart,
Life's budding pleasures such bliss can impart.

2  Music enchanting breaks on the ear,
Lifts up the spirit, and brings heaven near,
Sweet feathered songsters, send forth, as ye fly,
Like scented flowers, your worship on high.

3  Joy of life's springtime, 'tis but a dream,
Vanished as soon as the sun's brightest beam;
When clouds ar lowering o'er woodland and lawn,
Life becomes earnest when spring time is gone.
