1.It was a season for a soul to wait,
to welcome darkness lie the buried corn,
to sit with Mary through her labor pain,
exulting in the moment God was born.
2. We stood with shepherds in the grassy field
and tossed our twigs on their communal fire,
exchanging stories as the midnight moon
itself was lit by an angelic choir.
3. There was the journey through the distant hills,
a rhythmic, mesmerizing camel ride,
the star we learned to see through lidded eyes,
our joy in kneeling by a baby's side.
4. How soon he grows into a force himself,
a voice for Wisdom calling, Come and see
the present practice of the reign of God,
the daily wonders of Epiphany.
