Description: The Canticle for Vespers, "Magnificat anima mea" is Mary's response to a blessing by Elizabeth, whose unborn baby leaped for joy at Mary's greeting. One of 2 tone vi works by Compère, from Annaberg 1126 and designated second in Finscher's CMM edition. Alternatim setting of even verses, notwithstanding the inclusion of vv. 1.
