French text Mars et Marte en ce monde font grand guerre, En donnant mort, mais bien diversement. Mars par la force mest les gens soubz terre, Marte en chantant mourir fait doucement.

English translation Mars and Marte wage total war in this world, Dealing death with great variety. Mars, by force, puts people under the sod, Marte, by singing, brings gentle dying.
