Biography
German theologian, reformer, composer, and hymn writer. He published the first extensive Protestant hymnal in 1531. "He was initially a Franciscan in Breslau and after 1518 preacher of the Unity of the Bohemian Brethren. He also wrote theological writings and hymns, some of which he set to music" (de.wikipedia).
