English text
Most gracious God of boundless might,
Supreme eternal King;
Direct my heart and voice aright
When I thy praises sing.
Lord, hear my prayer, accept my song,
And sanctify my mind;
And grant I may, my whole life long,
Be virtuously inclined.
That when thou may’st my soul require,
And I must hence remove,
I then may join the heav’nly choir
And sing with saints above.
