Description: The title is sometimes cited as "Non dispiegate...", even in the modern edition of opera omnia in Corpus Mensurabilis Musicae, which may be due to a badly legible "r" in the canto and basso at least of the 1607 reprint by Gardano (but still there is clearly visible the "i" after the "g"); the text though is correctly given there as "Non dispregiate..." in all other voices and even in the index of the canto and basso. And it's there in the poem by Martelli and in the Gemmae musicalis.

Italian text Non dispregiate i miserelli amanti Ch‘esser non dee beltate In un spirto gentil vaga de pianti, Che se’ ne vien l’etate, Che fa pentir le belle donne ingrate, Vi sentirete al core Chi saprà vendicar nostro dolore.

German translation Verachtet nicht die unglücklichen Liebenden, weil sie nicht göttliche Schönheiten sind, in heidnischem Geist euch erfreuend am Leiden, damit nicht der Zustand eintritt, der die spröden schönen Damen bereuen lässt, ihr werdet es im Herzen spüren, wer unser Leid zu rächen wissen wird.
