Now once again our hearts we raise
In hymns of thankfulness and praise

Give praise to God this joyful morn,
On which the King of Kings was born.

For unto us this day,

To you this day is born a Child,
Of Mary, chosen Virgin mild:

That blessed Child, so sweet and kind,
Shall give you joy and peace of Alleluia,

'Tis Christ our Lord and God indeed,
Your help and stay in ev'ry need:
Himself your Saviour He will be,
From sin and death to set you free.

Now hear the sign, and mark with care
The swaddling clothes and crib so bare;
There shall ye find this Infant laid
Who all the world upholds and made.

Then let us all our gladness shew,
And with the joyful shepherds go,
To see what God for us has done,
And giv'n to man His only Son.

Around His throne thus may we sing,
When all Creation owns Him King,
