Description: This is a 6 part anthem whose only source is the "Barnard" manuscript. Edmund H. Fellowes deemed it "one of the most perfect penitential anthems in the whole range of polyphonic music."

English text O Lord, in thy wrath rebuke me not: neither chasten me in thy displeasure. Have mercy upon me, O Lord, for I am weak: O Lord, heal me, for my bones are vexed. My soul is also sore troubled: but, Lord, how long wilt thou punish me? O save me, for thy mercy's sake.

German translation O Herr, in deinem Zorn tadle mich nicht, und züchtige mich nicht in deinem Grimm. Habe Erbarmen mit mir, o Herr, denn ich bin schwach: O Herr, heile mich, denn mein Gebein ist gequält. Meine Seele schmerzt und ist in Aufruhr: Doch Herr, wie lange willst du mich strafen?
