Der Strom ist frei,
Ich steh verschlossen,
Mein Aug’ verdrossen,
Ich seh nicht deine grüne Tracht,
Nicht deine buntgeblümte Pracht,
Nicht dein Himmelsblau,
Zur Erd’ ich schau;
O süßer Mai,
Mich lasse frei,
Wie den Gesang
