Background

I live in Bristol, and write documentation for the computer industry. I sing in various choirs and conduct the Henbury Singers (a non-audition choir of about 40), for whom I write and arrange pieces. My wife and I also run COMA Voices South-West, a vocal group that explores contemporary music. COMA stands for COntemporary Music for Amateurs and is a nation-wide organisation dedicated to encouraging contemporary music that is performable by amateurs and accessible to the average concert-goer. We would very much like to hear from anyone interested in the problem of writing music for singers that is unashamedly contemporary but is well within the reach of the average amateur. Such music is very rare, it seems!
