Description: Whitsuntide/Pentecost hymn from Act V, scene x of Peer Gynt. In the published score a note says the piano harmonization is for rehearsal only; in the play the unison melody is heard a cappella, offstage. A slightly different version for SATB is included in the 1988 Samlede verker, Band 18

Norwegian text Velsignede Morgen, da Gudsrigets Tunger traf Jorden som flammende stål. Fra Jorden mod Borgen nu Arvingen sjunger på Gudsrigets Tungemål.

German translation O Morgenstunde, da Zungen des Geistes wie Schwerter herniedergeflammt. Aus Enkelmunde den Geist nun preistes in Liedern, dem Himmel entstammt.
