Description: First published in The United States Sacred Harmony, 1799, p. 219. A folk hymn (Jackson 1953a No. 89, David Music 1995). Words by Charles Wesley, 1747, Redemption Hymns No. 19, with eight stanzas. Pilsbury used the first two stanzas of Wesley's hymn in his composition.
