Talk:Ecce quam bonum (Jean Richafort)

This is not a separate work, it should be acknowledged as the secunda pars of O quam dulcis as stated in the source (Attaingnant, 1534). The source also notates the opening section (up to and including the bar 17, in this edition) in triple time, not duple time: this is the genius of Richafort’s setting, since the original Savonarolan song is, indeed, in duple time. The need for a ‘remedial’ 2/4 bar is therefore avoided if, as intended, this section is set as 22 bars of triple time rather than 16.5 bars of duple time.
