Description: A metrical setting of psalm 1, this is the first of an almost complete cycle of settings by Sheppard of the 1549 edition of the psalms of Sternhold and Hopkins. Only the top voice-part of Sheppard's settings survive, but 'The man is blessed' also survives in a keyboard arrangement that enables the piece to be reconstructed.
