Erschienen ...(Distler)

Looks a though you are part way through creating this page. You may wish to know that I'm currently tidying up what I think is the relevant text page, so you can link the works page to this with {{LinkText|...}}

Just noticed the works page with the corrected title, so I've deleted the first page. If you create a page and then find a mistake in the page title, one way to sort the problem is to click in the arrow next to the search box and select move. You can then correct the title easily and anything you have already added to the page will be transferred.

I've added a link on the text page to your Distler edition. The full poem has 14 verses, as it happens. I've also altered the name of the lyricist on your page, so that it links to the existing lyricist page; he seems to have several aliases.

You will find that it all gets less complicated as you continue to add editions. I found it a bit difficult when I started too. If you have a problem, any of the administrators will be happy to help.

Thank you so much for your note and your help. I certainly hadn't noticed the "Move" arrow. It's great you've put the full English translation up. I'm still finding things, and just found that.

I now have an underlay text the works, mostly rhymed, for each of the settings in Der Jahrkreis. I hope I live long enough to make them all available. Finding an underlay that works for all the German verses is tough; although I'm uncomfortable putting up my translations without a German version that works. I'm not surprised that Distler/Bärenreiter didn't follow through with that.

Somewhere it should be mentioned that one is under no artistic pressure to do all the verses, just in case that's not obvious. One more thing, I have a good translation (not mine) of Distler's Vorwort. Is there a place to put that--with the original, of course? It helps make sense of the strange Jahrkreis collection. Thanks again.
