Choral mezzo-soprano voicing

Hi Roar. I reverted your edits to Category:2 part choral music and changed the voicing of O sacrum convivium (Franz Liszt) to "SA" rather than "MzA" or "MA" because CPDL doesn't currently recognise mezzo-soprano as a separate voicing for choral works, although it does for solo vocal works. In my experience, it's fairly rare for a soprano not to be able to reach mezzo soprano notes, also very few composers write choral mezzo-soprano parts (even rarer than baritone) so I don't think there's any reason to introduce mezzo-soprano as a choral voice on CPDL. However, if you feel strongly about the subject, please raise your concerns on the wiki BB or on the external forums. I have just reverted your edit to O sacrum convivium (Franz Liszt) again. Please don't change it again unless/until some consensus is reached on the matter. Thanks --Bobnotts talk 22:20, 7 September 2008 (PDT)

Dates of lyricists on score pages

Hi Roar. I've been removing the dates of lyricists that you've been adding to score pages on the basis that if there is a page for a lyricist, his/her dates will be there. Just in the same way that we don't note composers' dates on score pages, nor do we note lyricists' if they have a page of their own. Thanks for all your hard work! --Bobnotts talk 22:09, 2 June 2009 (UTC)

I will lift up mine eyes (Sveinbjörn Sveinbjörnsson)

Hi Roar. I've moved this score page to a different title because slashes (/) in pages titles make the page into a subpage of the first part (before the slash), in this case, a subpage of Anthem, which we don't want. I've assumed that Icelandic was the original language of the work. Regards --Bobnotts talk 14:32, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Hi.
Thanks for the amendments on this page. The piece was composed to the English text ( Psalm 121 slightly changed from the traditional)
The Icelandic translation was done many years later and that too does not follow exactly the 121 Psalm of David.
Could you change this and maybe we should have the exact text (taken from the piece) on the work-page since it is different from the traditional.
Let me know what you think.

Thanks for your reply. I've moved it back here as I like to keep discussion together (I've requested this in the blue box at the top of my talk page). If the English text was the original then, yes, the page title should be the English title. Is this "Anthem"? Or should it be "I will lift up mine eyes"? I've put the English text back on the page. --Bobnotts talk 22:30, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Bob.
The composer uses the title "Anthem" in the manuscript score, but your suggestion is fine by me :-)
roar 02:16, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
It seems unlikely to me that he would title it "Anthem" even if that's what he wrote at the top of the ms - probably more of a genre indication. Anyway, I've gone with the first few words as a title. Oh and by the way, rather than starting a new title for discussion on a talk page, you should click on "edit" to the right of the current discussion. Also, indenting replies tends to help when people come to read the discussion later. Thanks! --Bobnotts talk 08:40, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
Hi Bob.
Let's keep it as you suggest and thanks for informing me how to use the talk pages, never to old to learn new things :-) --roar 14:36, 17 June 2009 (UTC)
