General information
"Vere languores … Dulce lignum" is a widespread motet text, the first part drawn from Isaiah 53:4-5 (c.f. Messiah No. 22), and the second part resembling verse 2 of Crux fidelis. The opening verse, as far as "portavit", appears as an antiphon in the Solesmes books, which also have a longer Tract from Isaiah for Votive Masses of the Passion.
