Life
Born: 14 May 1790
Died: 24 July 1867
Biography
William Letton Viner was born in Bath, and held the post of organist at St Michael's there from c1810 to 1835. During this time, he established himself as a keyboard teacher, and contributed two psalm tunes to Richard Garbett's Sacred Harmony (1818), to which he subscribed.
In 1835, he moved to Penzance
, where he was organist of St. Mary's from 1835 to 1839.
He emigrated to the United States in 1859, and died in Westfield, Massachusetts in 1867: a number of his works, published and manuscript, are held in the Sibley Music Library.
