Life

Biography

William Letton Viner was born in BathLink to the English Wikipedia article, and held the post of organist at St Michael'sLink to the English Wikipedia article there from c1810 to 1835. During this time, he established himself as a keyboard teacher, and contributed two psalm tunes to Richard Garbett's Sacred Harmony (1818), to which he subscribed.

In 1835, he moved to PenzanceLink to the English Wikipedia article, where he was organist of St. Mary's from 1835 to 1839.

He emigrated to the United States in 1859, and died in Westfield, MassachusettsLink to the English Wikipedia article in 1867: a number of his works, published and manuscript, are held in the Sibley Music LibraryLink to the English Wikipedia article.
