General information
A hymn by Justus Jonas (1524), a paraphrase of Psalm 124. Although it was already published with a different melody, it is usually set with a tune by a unknown composer (Wittenberg 1529, Zahn 4441a).
Several composer who have set this text, have also set Wär Gott nicht mit uns diese Zeit, a different versification of psalm 124. In todays Evangelisches Gesangbuch a combination of both texts is used.
