Latin text Beatus vir qui inventus est sine macula et qui post aurum non abiit, nec speravit in pecuniae thesauris. Quis est hic, et laudabimus eum? Fecit enim mirabilia in vita sua. (Liber Jesu filii Sirach 31;8-9)

English translation Blessed is the man that is found without blemish: and that hath not gone after gold, nor put his trust in money nor in treasures. Who is he, and we will praise him? for he hath done wonderful things in his life. (Book of Sirach/Ecclesiasticus 31;8-9)

Hungarian translation Boldog az az ember, aki hiba nélkül van, ha nem tévedt meg az arany miatt, és nem bizakodott sem pénzben, sem kincsben! Ki az, hogy magasztalhassuk, mert csodálatos dolgokat tett életében! (Sirák fia 31;8-9)

German translation Wohl dem Manne, der unsträflich gefunden wird und nicht das Geld sucht und nicht auf die Geldschätze vertraut. Wo ist der? so wollen wir ihn loben; denn er tut große Dinge unter seinem Volk.
