Italian text
La notte quando penso di dormire
Son risvegliato e sento mi scoprire.
E poi sento una voce tanta chiara,
E par che parla e dica dolcemente:
Amante mio, non ti turbar la mente.
Ch’io son colei che tanto adori e ami,
E vengo a contentar i tuoi desieri,
Finge bacciarmi, e via sparisce e fugge;
Vedete in quanti modi amor mi strugge.

gibt sie vor, mich zu küssen, und verschwindet und flieht;
seht, wie sehr die Liebe mich fesselt.

English translation
Who will console me, I am despairing,
at night, when I think of sleeping,
I awake and see I have uncovered myself.
And then I hear such a clear voice,
and it seems it speaks so sweetly:
my love, don’t agonize.
Because I am the one that so much admires and loves,
and is ready to fulfil your wishes,
therefore I shall no more lament or sigh.
So presenting her sweet mouth
she feigns to kiss me, and vanishes and flees;
see how in many ways love bonds me.
