German text 1. Auf ihrem Leibrößlein, So weiß wie der Schnee, Die schönste Prinzessin Reit't durch die Allee. 2. Der Weg, den das Rößlein Hintanzet so hold, Der Sand, den ich streute, Er blinket wie Gold. 3. Du rosenfarbs Hütlein, Wohl auf and wohl ab, O wirf eine Feder Verstohlen herab! 4. Und willst du dagegen Eine Blüte von mir, Nimm tausend für eine, Nimm alle dafür!

English translation 1. On her fav'rite pony, as white as the snow, the princess in beauty ariding will go. 2. The way, where her pony now prances so fair it sparkles like silver with sand I’ve strewn there. 3. O little pink hat that bobs up and then down, just one stolen feather for me do throw down! 4. Should you in return wish a flower from me, not one but a thousand, they all are for thee!
