Biography
Geoffrey Anketell Studdert Kennedy was a Church of England priest and poet. Born in Leeds, he served as an Army chaplain during the First World War, acquiring the nickname 'Woodbine Willie'. His experiences during the war were reflected in his poetry, and in later years he worked for the Industrial Christian Fellowship.
