Description: Words by an unknown author, apparently first published in Joshua Smith and Samuel Sleeper, Divine Hymns or Spiritual Songs for the Use of Religious Assemblies and Private Christians, 1794, with sixteen stanzas. Ingalls used two stanzas in each line of his composition.
